Clutch or Transmission?
Grinding and hard shifting can come from the clutch, the clutch brake, the transmission or an air problem. We diagnose which it is before recommending a repair. For gearbox problems see truck transmission repair.
Make Your Clutch Last
Start in the correct gear for the load, avoid riding the clutch, don’t use the clutch brake to slow the truck, and have adjustment checked regularly on manual-adjust clutches.
“They fixed my clutch in 1 day and helped with my electrical.”

What Happens During a Clutch Replacement
The transmission is removed, the old clutch, release bearing and pilot bearing are replaced, and the flywheel is inspected. We check the input shaft, release fork and clutch brake, reinstall the transmission and adjust and road-test the clutch. On automated transmissions the clutch is calibrated with diagnostic software after installation.
